Starbirth Surprisingly Energetic: New Insights Into Protostars

Young stairs release a material at very high speeds, and this material often crashes into surrounding gases causing it to glow and create a Herbig-Haro object.  An object similar to this situation, the Herbig-Haro 46/47 is being studied by the ALMA.  The studies show images that give great detail in two jets, one coming towards Earth and one moving away.  The ALMA allowed two astronomers to measure how fast the glowing object is moving through space.  Further research showed that the gas material carries much more energy and momentum than what was thought.  The only thing scientists can do is continue to study the Herbig-Haro 46/47.  The barriers to the research are the drastic changes occurring within this glowing gas ball.  However, ALMA has the technology to easily detect and study the object.  I am curious to see what Herbig-Haro 46/47 will become and if it could possibly become a threat to the planet Earth.
